  1. I see via an earlier chipin/paypal that FOCUS posted (see WAY below) that you are somehow linked to UNC (focas@unc.com)?  I’m confused, FOCAS is a 501c3, so what is the relationship with UNC?
  2. You say donations are tax deductible, but UNC is NOT a 501c3.  I’m confused (see below)
  3. Does my money do to FOCAS or to UNC and THEN to Focus?
  4. Do you have a license to Solicit funds?  According to the NC Secretary of State, you do not.  Perhaps I searched incorrectly or used the wrong organzational name.  Do you have another name?  Should I search for a UNC related hybrid name?  Please advise.

So where it sites that you are exempt, are you saying you do NOT need a license?
I was under the impression that ALL organizations needed a solicitation license from the Secretary of state?
Also, regarding out of state shipments of dogs...
I’m very knowledgeable about this issue
Be very careful to follow all of the state and USDA rules

Too many animals are being illegal shipped up north
And there have been Parvo and H3N8 dog flu outbreaks linked to NC animals

and others.  For the record, you have the FOCAS 990,
certifying that FOCAS's income is under $25,000 and
thus has always been exempt.  In fact FOCAS has
NEVER had income above $5,000.  Villarosa has
mentioned another organization that I am affiliated
with - PAWS; PAWS has never solicited funds from
anyone and is not covered by statute.  As for NCRR,
I see that it has been registered for some time.

Professor X has said "I am relatively confident
the folks at UNC recognize a nut case when they
encounter one"; I hope that the same is true of you.
Obviously Villarosa is mentally disturbed.

I am warning other animal organizations so that they
(or you) will not be harassed by him.  I presume
that you have a "nut file"; Villarosa should be

North Carolina General Statutes § 131F-5 Licensure of charitable organizations and sponsors required

(a) License Required. Unless exempted under G.S. 131F‑3, a charitable organization, sponsor, or person that intends to solicit contributions in this State, to have funds solicited on its behalf, or to participate in a charitable sales promotion or sponsor sales promotion shall obtain a license by filing an application with the Department, obtaining approval of that application by the Department, and paying the applicable fee.

North Carolina General Statutes § 131F-3 Exemptions

The following are exempt from the provisions of this Chapter:

 (3) Any person who receives less than twenty‑five thousand dollars ($25,000) in contributions in any calendar year and does not provide compensation to any officer, trustee, organizer, incorporator, fund‑raiser, or solicitor.
